Experience the Healing Power of Forest Bathing in Brandon, MB
Channel the calm and quiet within you while surrounded by nature through forest bathing in Brandon, MB. My name is Denise Weir of Saorsa Nature and Forest Therapy, and I am deeply rooted in the Western Manitoba area, having been born and raised here. I can help you experience the healing power of the natural environment as a nature and forest therapy guide with extensive training with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy.
With a 10-month program provided by a global trainer, I have acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to facilitate transformative experiences in nature. This practice is deeply rooted in Shinrin-yoku, a scientific-based approach to healing that originated in Japan during the 1980s. Its effectiveness in reducing stress-related illnesses such as high blood pressure, anxiety, and depression, while strengthening the immune system has been well-documented.

What I Can Do for You
As a guide, my role is to create a safe and supportive space for you to connect with nature through your senses. I do not provide psychological counseling, advice, or diagnostic services. Instead, I offer a guiding presence that allows you to immerse yourself in the healing power of the natural world.
I present individuals with the opportunity to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing so they can forge meaningful connections with the natural world and nurture a sense of harmony and well-being in their lives.
About Me
Prior to embarking on this journey as a nature and forest therapy guide, I held a Master of Library Science degree and worked as a consultant in library administration for an impressive 23 years. Now retired, I have chosen to dedicate my time and expertise to helping others live healthier lives and foster meaningful relationships with the diverse beings that inhabit our world.
Recognizing that our lives are intricately connected with more than just the human world, I view the non-human inhabitants of nature as our relations. They possess their own spirit and wisdom, which are essential for the sacredness of life. Through my practice, I aim to deepen the understanding and appreciation of these interconnections, encouraging individuals to cultivate a sense of reverence and gratitude for the natural environment.
